Starting on 8/1/2025 for a period of 6 months a pilot program will begin changing the max duration allowed for a paid meter session. All current 90-minute max meters in the Borough will become 120-minute max meters from 10AM through 5PM. The 180-minute max from 5PM to 10PM will remain unchanged.
-This includes the Digital Payment only zones
-Red Housing meters will remain 15-minute max meters
-Hours of Enforcement will remain 10am-10 Monday through Saturday, and on street prohibition of No Parking 2am-6am is still in effect
-Sundays will remain free, Holidays listed in the Ordinance will remain free
After the 6 month period has ended, Borough Council will elect to revert to the previous parameters, or change to a new max time that would be codified.
Please remember, it has always been an infraction to "feed-the-meter" or extend via mobile payments past the max allotted time and leave a vehicle in the metered spot longer than the ordinance allows. Violations may be issued for an Overtime Max duration of a zone.
-If you require longer than the metered limits, please utilize the Beaver Lot or McAllister deck which follow the same rate but allow up to 5 hour sessions.
-Additionally, please remember that the gated garages of Pugh, Fraser and Beaver are 24/7 at a lower rate than meters at $1 per hour.
-Beaver and Fraser Permit Holders: Please keep in mind that the gates may not automatically lift that are connected to the License Plate Reader cameras, especially in the winter months. There are many situations that can occur where the cameras may have a temporary difficulty for permit to plate search attribution: general internet drops/outage, multiple same vehicles attached to multiple permits, vehicles following too closely to you, snow/exhaust/dirt covering any portion of your plate, plate coverings, etc. It is a requirement to always have your access card for the touch-box as the cameras are not a technological 100% up time capability with so many external factors. While they have successful uptime for the vast majority of the time, your permit card is the full-proof back-up if the gates do not raise automatically for you.
A recent software upgrade from our Parking software provider has temporarily caused issues with the Fraser garage reading plates for automatic gate lifting on permits. Please remember, keeping the physical permit with you/in your vehicle is still a requirement, especially during times where the gates may not recognize plates. We apologize for any inconvenience and will notify parkers on this announcement page when functionality is restored.
